36” main, Milngavie Glasgow
Jardine Utilities was called to this 36” main in Milngavie, Glasgow, bursting mid-day on January 25th 2023. Causing the road to split, making it impossible for anyone to get passed.
Scottish Water contacted us around 2.30pm, to assemble a repair squad, ready for the large task. Our men arrived on site at 10.30pm with the site supervisor to review the situation, along with a 5-man team to complete the repair as urgently as possible.
Due to high voltage power cables, we had to coordinate with Scottish Power to get cables isolated while excavations were being carried out.
A successful job was concluded efficiently due to the ability of our men to work well alongside Scottish Water, Scottish Power and other approved contractors.
Full excavation, cut-out and repair was completed within 12 hours allowing for water to be turned back on for thousands in the area.
